1. Importing Pattern names
Before starting to edit RPS sets, I recommend you to import the names of your Patterns for being able to address them later.
To do so, you will have to import the pattern names seperately from your user area, your smart media card and from preset.
The preset pattern names depend on the OS version and can only be imported from an unzipped OS update.
The user and card pattern names can be either imported from the MC-909 via USB directly or from a backup you have on your computer.
In all cases the folder to select is the one which contains the ROLAND-folder. In case of a direct USB-connection just select the drive.

For importing follow those steps:
- Select "MC-909 > Import [User/Card/Preset] pattern Names" from the menu.
- Point the dialog to the folder which contains the ROLAND folder (in case of a direct USB-connection point it to the MC-909's drive).
- Select "OK" and the Pattern names are there, if this folder was the right one.
- The pattern names will be kept so you don't have to import them each time you run the program.
- After creating new patterns on your MC-909 or after deleting or renaming them, you should update the pattern names simply by rerunning this procedure,
otherwise the old pattern names will be shown in the program.

2. Creating/Editing RPS Sets
Load/New
For creating/editing RPS sets, you can either start from zero or load an existing RPS set to edit it.
For loading RPS Sets, you can again either connect your MC-909 via USB (user area) and select the MC-909's drive as destination or
work with a local backup. In this case you would have to specify the folder which contains the ROLAND-folder as destination.
After specifying a valid folder, a popup of your existing RPS sets should appear where you can choose the one you want to edit.
Press "Load" to load the RPS set.

Edit
Numerical Values
Numerical values can be changed by holding down the mouse button on the Rectangle in which the value is shown and moving the mouse up or down (depending on the speed).
You can also enter the value manually after double clicking on a value. After single mouse click on a value, this value is selected and can be changed
with the arrow keys and the "Page Up" and "Page Down" of your Keyboard.

For editing you have one page for each RPS part, standing for one Pad of the MC-909 and one Mixer page where you can get an overview of all parts.
In the Part pages you have three fields:

- Source
Here you can select which part of which pattern should be played as this RPS Part. If you did import your pattern names, they should be visible here.

- Patch
You can specify a patch for this RPS part independent of its source patch. You will have to know the program number of the patch you want to select.
Maybe in a future update you can also import your patch names...
The combination of Patch bank and type doesn't always make sense, but any combination is allowed, so watch your entries if they make sense.
AS i don't have a SRX Card i don't really know, how patches are addressed on it, but this is the way the data is stored in the MC-909.

- Part
All the settings that can be changed on the MC-909 in "RPS Settings" can be changed here too with the difference that the MC-909 up to now (OS 1.10)
doesn't store that data permanently.

3. Saving RPS Sets
After you have created or edited your dream RPS set, you can store it. Again you can choose either to store it somewhere on your harddisk temporarily or
directly into your MC-909 via USB.
- Choose "RPS Set > Save" from the menu.
- You will be asked for a destination folder. Select the folder, which contains the ROLAND-folder or a folder, where you want the ROLAND-folder to be created.
- Select the number under which you want to save RPS set.
- Click on "Save" to proceed
- If the MC-909 folders (ROLAND/SEQ/RPS) don't exist in the specified folder, you will be asked if they should be created. If you select "No" the RPS set won't be saved.
- If an Rps set with the specified number already exists at this location (usually this will be the case), you will be asked if you want to overwrite it.
- If you saved the RPS set somewhere on your harddisk, you will have to copy the generated file ROLAND/SEQ/RPS/rps0[nr].mcs (where [nr] stands for the number,
under which you saved it between 01 and 50) to your MC-909's user area via USB into the same folder to be able to use it.
- My experience was, that the MC-909 had to be restarted afterwards for the new RPS set to be available.
